Helped develop the Raster Image Processor (RIP) front end for many of our company's printers. A RIP turns a Page Description Language such as Adobe's Portable Document Format (PDF) into dots for the marking engine to print on paper along with feature selection such as media selection, folding, and stapling. These RIP's were Sun Sparc based PDF, PostScript, TIFF, and PCL for networked color and black and white full featured copier/printers. My responsibilities included architecture, design, and implementation of PDF, PostScript, Common Command Handler, and coordinated integration with other system components. Shipped as Heidelberg Digimaster 9110/9150, Kodak ImageSource 92P/92SP printer (time from architecture to shipping only 7 months) and Kodak ImageSource 70cp copier-printer.

Custom embedded Mips/cexec based PostScript and raster RIP for a near photo quality color thermal die printer using Adobe's Reference System (Kodak XLS 8650 and 8650PS series printers) - responsible for porting the operating system, engine and control panel analysis, design, and implementation
